American Cancer Society Support
In 2009, Apex adopted the American Cancer Society (ACS) as our national philanthropy. Each year since, our corporate office and branches across the country have participated in their local Relay For Life events, the signature fundraiser for the ACS. The ACS notes the RFL is the largest volunteer activity in the world as part of the movement to end cancer, with over 5,300 RFL events across the country. At RFL events, teams come together for 12-24 hours to "Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back."
To date, Apex employees have raised and contributed over $500,000 for the ACS, which has been divvied up among many programs, including cancer research, cancer education and awareness, advocacy, early detection programs, prevention programs, support (24/7 hotline, grief counseling,
Look Good Feel Better Programs), transportation programs, and Hope Lodges for individuals stay for free while undergoing intensive treatment.
